Here you'll find the most popular places in our country. However, we will gladly assist you with any other questions you might have and prepare a program with exclusive destinations in Greece
Corfu is the most popular of the Ionian Islands. Corfù is something you can't understand immediately, but you have to discover it slowly, day after day, as "Feaci" did in ancient times. Thousands of years ago they landed in Corfu with their legendary boats and little by little they started to discover its colours, its perfumes, its sounds and sensations.
Today you will be impressed by long sandy beaches, marvelous bay, picturesque mountain villages, large olive tree forests and the old town with its ancient stones and hidden lovely places.
You'll find this and more in a modern island that still seduces the visitors with its charm and its old traditions of a glorious past. Corfu Greece is definitely one of the most popular destinations in Greece and it is considered as the most spectacular landscapes in Greece.
The thick vegetation, the massive number of flowers, the country full of olive trees and the Mediterranean nature all around Corfu island are the result of the abundant winter rains and a sweet climate all over the year. The hottest months during the summer are refreshed by a nice wind. Winter in Kerkyra, is never very cold, you'll find in an average temperature of 10/12 degrees daily.
Corfu, called Kerkyra by Greek people, belongs to the Greek Ionian Islands (Corfu, Paxi, Lefkas, Kefalonia, Ithaki, Zante and Kythira) and it is the biggest one after Kefalonia.
The hospitality of the inhabitants together with their joy of life will impress you from the first moment of your stay. The capital, Kerkyra (Corfu) town, was renovated for an EU summit in 1994, and is now one of the most elegant island capitals in the whole of Greece. Although many of its finest buildings were destroyed by Nazi bombers in World War II, two massive forts, the sixteenth-century church Ayios Spyridhon and buildings dating from French and British administrations remain intact. As the island's major port of entry by ferry or plane, Kerkyra Town is packed in summer.

But throughout these invasions the Cretan people have remained relatively unscathed and retain their justifiable pride in their island and their culture. With English spoken widely throughout the island to ask a Cretan a question is to invite them to sit with you, and with time measured differently here you are likely to be sitting for while taking in long conversations that will naturally require food and drink. Nowadays, Crete has a flourishing economy which is based partly on tourism. It has giant hotel resorts where you can enjoy splendid facilities. In the south of the island, you will find hundreds of exotic beaches, some crowded and some isolated which can satisfy any taste. Crete is famous for its fruit and vegetable production.
